Summer is beginning to wind down.
The new school year has now resumed for many.
The summertime mindset - one of time off, more relaxed energy, and vibes - is gradually being replaced with a mindset that’s far more focused, driven, and yet also hectic.
As you continually shift your thoughts and focus back toward a regimented schedule and work week, I invite you to pause and take a thorough look at how you’re spending your time.
Here are some key questions to ask yourself:
*Are your days filled with activities that lift you up energetically and leave you feeling purposeful?
*Are these activities supportive of your goals and what you want to accomplish in your business?
*Do these activities help you to produce income?
*Do you allow yourself enough time in between meetings so that you can feel refreshed, accomplish key tasks, and allow yourself time to get your mindset right before your next event?
*Do you feel energized throughout your day and able to confidently accomplish everything that you need to get done?
These are the types of questions that I regularly do a deep dive into with my own clients. It allows us to figure out those areas of their schedule that aren’t helping them to be productive, that have them feeling overwhelmed, or are the exact opposite of what feels fulfilling to them.
Start with just one aspect of your schedule and then work from there. As you do this exercise, listen to what your inner knowing tells you about whether your time is being spent wisely or if gentle tweaks are needed.
Remember that this is a continual, ongoing process. Sometimes the answers are immediately apparent and sometimes it takes longer to realize what you need to do next.
And equally as important, know that you will need to live in this ever-changing newness of your schedule as you continue to tweak it. Meaning, you make a shift and then live in the change to see how it feels. Allow yourself time to live in it and then see how it works for you.
- Maybe you make a single tweak and every piece of it works for you. Great!
- Maybe part of it works and a bit of additional gentle tweaking is needed to get it right.
- Or maybe the tweak you made isn’t what you need at all and you find yourself needing to go in a different direction. Despite the potential frustration that may arise from it not working, the discomfort you're feeling is still valuable insight because it’s telling you what you DON’T want or need in your schedule. And that helps point you in the right direction of what you DO want or need in your schedule.
"Productivity isn't about being a workhorse. Keeping busy or burning the midnight oil... It's more about priorities, planning, and fiercely protecting your time." - Gary Keller
The more you claim what you both want and need in your schedule (and how you spend your precious time each day), the happier, more vibrant, and more productive you’ll be.
